Cinemagogue presents "The Frisco Kid": Saturday, February 4 at 7 p.m.
Follow the adventures of Rabbi Avram Belinski and cowpoke bandit Tom Lillard in the 1850's West as Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford team up in this hilarious
caper. The showing begins at 7:00pm. Thanks to Marsha Snyder for her Cinemagogue sponsorship and donations at the door are welcome.

 

 

 

Seasoned Citizens "Cook-In": Tuesday, February 7 at Noon

Seniors are invited to Menorah Park at 18 Arbor Lane in DeWitt at 12:00noon on Tuesday, Feb. 7 to break up the winter blues with a "cook-in." Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixins of a summer picnic. Entertainment will be provided and, best of all, it is free! RSVP by February 3 or call 475-9952.


 

 

Hebrew School Celebrates Tu B'Shevat: Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Hebrew school is celebrating Tu b'Shevat next Wednesday, February 8, as part of our school time. Everyone is welcome to join us at 6:30 pm for this special program as we celebrate the birthday of the trees.

Goldenberg Cultural Series presents The Highland Winds: Thursday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m.

One of Central New York's favorite groups performs Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7:00pm as part of the Regina F. Goldenberg Cultural Series at Temple. The Highland Winds are led by clarinetist John Flaver and feature a wide-ranging and eclectic musical repertoire. The concert is free, but donations are encouraged.

 

 

 

 

Interfaith Families Honorary Shabbat & Dinner: Friday, February 10 at 6:00 p.m.

Interfaith families raising Jewish children will be honored at Shabbat worship on Friday Feb. 10. The week's Torah reading focuses on the relationship between Moshe and his father-in-law, Yitro (Jethro), who is a Midianite.

Service is at 6:00 and will feature our 5th graders and the Shira Shalom Singers (youth choir). A spaghetti dinner will follow the service with various types of pasta and sauces (gluten-free included) Our Yitros and Zipporahs will eat free and there will be a $12 charge for others (children 5 and under eat free with a $40 family cap). Pre-Valentine's Day "Love, Jewish Style" Hadvallah: Saturday, February 11 at 5:00 p.m.

Join us for a special Havdallah program and Seudah Shlishit (3rd meal of Shabbat). "Love, Jewish Style" a unique pre-Valentine's Day Havdallah. Three of our most theatrical congregants -- Margie Markson Johnson, Jessie Kerr-Whitt, and Banna Rubinow -- will read three wonderful short stories. In "Pursuing Happiness" by Karen Karlitz, the collapse of a 32-year marriage is enlivened and complicated by the sexual revolution; in "The Golem's Heart" by Sumner P. Wolsky, a sculptor falls in love with the Golem she has created, and in Grace Paley's "Goodbye and Good Luck" a woman whose association with Yiddish theater, and especially with one of its brightest stars, tells the fascinating and surprising story of her life to her young niece. Join us from 5:00-7:00pm for a celebration of love with a Jewish twist! 


 
 
 
 
 
 Brotherhood and WRJ Bowling Tournament: Sunday, February 12 at 5:30 p.m.
WRJ and Brotherhood get together Sunday afternoon Feb. 12 at 5:30 at Strike 'N Spare Lanes in Mattydale for the 2nd annual Bowling Tournament. For more information, contact Brotherhood President Mark Frank or WRJ President Jennifer Satterlee. Cost is $10 for two games and shoes.  Ellis Island Experience: Tuesday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m.
Learn about the experiences many of our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents
faced as they came through Ellis Island at our next Scholars Series program, Feb. 14 at 6:00pm. Dennis Heaphy, who has been deeply involved with Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island restorations and has produced many historical reenactment programs will be our speaker.

Temple invites you to join the students from Rabbi Jacobs Epstein School of Jewish Studies for a baked ziti dinner following Heaphy's presentation. Dinner is $5 for adults (Epstein students eat free) Please RSVP to

Temple O'Concord Night with the Syracuse Crunch: Saturday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Put Saturday night March 17 on your calendars as that will be Temple O'Concord night with the Syracuse Crunch at the War Memorial as the Crunch take on the Adirondack Phantoms at 7:30. Last year our Shira Shalom Singers were invited to sing the National Anthem and this year our choirs are being invited to sing again.
Tickets are $18 and are available at the Temple Office. Please contact us for more information.
