Rabbi Daniel J. Fellman Installed April 25

Rabbi Fellman and Rabbi MillerIn a ceremony that blended solemnity with a good dose of humor, Daniel J. Fellman was installed on Sunday, April 25 as just the fifth Rabbi of Society of Concord (known to us now as Temple Concord) since 1883.

Rabbi Bennet Miller, senior Rabbi since 1974 at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Rabbi Fellman's mentor, stood before the ark with Rabbi Fellman and recognized him as our Rabbi on behalf of the Union of Reform Judaism.  Rabbi Charles Sherman of Temple Adath Yeshurun gave the invocation and Rabbi Rachel Ain of Congregation Beth Sholom-Chevra Shas gave the benediction.

An audience of 350 congregants and community leaders looked on and recognition came from U.S. Representative Dan Maffei as well as representations and messages from the state of New York, Onondaga County,  the City of Syracuse, and Syracuse University.

Here is just a small sampling of images from the Installation ceremony, the preceding luncheon, and the reception that followed.  Photos are by Marc Safran.  The full gallery is available through Temple Concord's Facebook fan page.
