Class Description: A wonderful one hour lunch time study of Jewish ethics and values. Look at selections from the Talmud and discover how our ancestors struggled with the same questions and concerns we face today. No prior knowledge of Talmud is necessary. Feel free to bring a lunch, and give yourself the gift of a spiritual break during the work week!

Class Description: An introduction to Temple Concord's new Prayer Book, Mishkan T'Filah – A Reform Siddur. The first class will review the history of prayer books in general, leading into the history of our Reform prayer book. The last three classes will explore this new book. This is the first time in nearly 30 years the Reform Movement has produced a new prayer book!

Class Description: Learn the foundations of Hebrew literacy, including how to read the alphabet phonetically!
Intermediate Siddur Hebrew

“In the Intermediate Siddur Hebrew class we work toward reading proficiency, focusing on the building of solid translation skills and the acquisition of key vocabulary and roots.”

Class Description: Work with a wide selection of different prayer books, learning about the structure of the siddur and the meaning and themes of the prayers we say, emphasizing the way prayers fit together to form services, while rehearsing and practicing the elements of a service. In the past, Temple Concord members completing this course have become eligible to choose to celebrate an adult bar/bat mitzvah ceremony.
The fee is $120 for members and $165 for non-members. Books will cost an additional $25.
Advanced Hebrew

“The Advanced Hebrew class continues to build reading fluency, translation skills, and the acquisition of key vocabulary and roots. While re-visiting translation and understanding of the prayers, we also begin to delve more deeply into Biblical Hebrew, with an emphasis on recognition and translation.”

Class Description: Continue your Hebrew education with this advanced class, geared to students who are serious about building upon their reading and translation skills.
The cost is $180 for members and $250 for non-members.
