Especially For Families With Little Ones!purple families

Temple Concord welcomes children at all of our worship services. We also offer child care during Friday night worship so that parents can have some time to worship as adults when they choose. In addition, we offers a variety of special opportunities for families with young children throughout the year. Take a look below for an overview, and then be sure to join us!

TOT SHABBAT tot shabbat

Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their parents all delight in ourregularly scheduled Tot Shabbat worship services. Held at least once every month, Tot Shabbat offers an engaging 30 minutes Friday evening worship for young and old alike. Our clergy combines songs, prayers, and stories all designed to engage the young while also teaching the many adults in the room. Designed for those who are not yet readers, the service begins at 6 pm and is typically followed by a family friendly congregational meal. We welcome Shabbat with prayers and by eating together, either with a pot luck dinner or low-cost event.

PRESCHOOL FAMILY PROGRAMS

preschool roomFamilies with preschoolers come together six times a year to learn. Focus is on child and adult friendly preparation for upcoming holidays, Torah, and Israel. The programs are typically held on a Sunday morning during our Religious School hours. Interactive storytelling, songs, craft projects, and special snacks are all part of each event. Children and parents leave ready to celebrate the upcoming holiday with “take homes” in hand and new friends made.

Thanks to WRJ and led by Jennifer Satterlee and Chris Tracy our pre-school and baby-sitting room has been beautifully reappointed.

JEWISH STORYTIME

On the first Wednesday of each month through the school year,  little ones and  their parents  are invited to the Lois Arnold Gale Library at Temple Concord.  Moms (and dads) who are raising Jewish children and still have little ones at home, can come together for an hour of stories , songs, and getting to know one another. Lapsitters, crawlers, and preschoolers all enjoy the time together, as do their parents. Book browsing is also part of the fun. Come and join us!

PLAYGROUP AND PARENTING CONVERSATION

Parents raising Jewish little ones join together at 10 am on the third (typically – watch calendar) Wednesday of each month in our child care room. Little ones play, nap, and cuddle while parents enjoy time together.  This a super playgroup.
